Cloud Assemblages
These mysterious, magical cloud-shaped assemblage sculptures are formed using found objects, upcycled wood, discarded junk recovered from the desert around where I live, animal bones, and craft materials. The varied manmade materials underscore our interconnectedness and provoke reflection on human impact on the environment. Clouds are thought of as light and ephemeral, but these clouds are heavy, full of mystery, and uncertainty, much like our future. Clouds are full of possibilities and are transformed by our imagination - in a similar fashion these constructed clouds contain many stories built by the remains of human invention and intervention.
